The department the author of this paper is working at already has population managementsystem applied in the management of resident population and floating population, being ableto realize such functions as address management, actual population management,different-level population management and system management, etc. This is a computermanagement system, and relies on computers to realize population information management.On one hand, when people need to go through procedures regarding population, they have togo to public security authorities and on-site office could no be realized; on the other hand,policemen could not enter the first-hand data they collect in the survey over theiradministration areas into the system until they come back to office and have to write themdown on pocket books first, which means they have repeated work to do, increasing theworkload of policemen, and unhelpful for direct checking with people upon any identifiedissues.To address the issues mentioned above, this paper designed and realized the Androidsystem-based mobile terminal application of Population Information Management Systemwhich relies on current population management system and realizes the integration of Androidclient application and remote population management system server.According to the characteristics of the server-side system using Java EE platform anddivided into layered structure such as the controller layer, business logic layer and DAO layer,the developed Android client application is only responsible for interaction with the controllerassembly of the server to realize the system service. Apache HttpClient is used to sendrequests to the server-side controller of the population information management and receivesthe response of the server; it uses JSON as the data interchange format between the Androidclient and the server to realize the communication of the Android system and the populationinformation management system; it adopts proxy server technology and chooses VPN proxyserver to establish specialized access and data transmission channels; the use of Fragmenttechnology could realize different display modes of big and small screens through differentmultiplexing modes.The realized Android application in this paper is based on the JDK1.7version and usesEclipse for development, supporting Android3.0system and above; VPN is realized in ahigh-performance computer and established by means of the intrinsic functions of Windows7system.The Android application designed in this paper, without affecting the existing system functions of, fully utilizes existing system assemblies and realizes the mobilized applicationof the population information management. The JSON technology realizes lightweight datatransmission, ensuring the performance of the system; the use of VPN serve guarantees theaccess to the system and the safety of data; the application of Fragment technology makes theapplication interface more friendly and humanized.By installing this application in the Android application device, such functions as addressmanagement, actual population management and different-level population, etc, of thepopulation management information system could be realized. While executing populationmanagement, policemen could carry Android mobile phones or pads installed with this clientapplication and enter the address information and population information into the system inthe first time. People could also enter their information into the system when the policemenare working on site, making both parties convenient and realizing a win-win status.The following key step of this paper is to further perfect the functions of the Androidapplication, and improve the integrated performance of the Android application and server.Meanwhile, the application based on Appleā€™s IOS system will also be developed so thatfurther expansion of the application scope of the mobile terminal of the populationmanagement information system is also the direction of deepened study of this paper.
