Technology has been developed and upgraded for the last centuries, humans’ living quality also get improved by all means, nevertheless, pollution and wasting is becoming the one of the most critical problem. In order to solve this, high efficiency and less emission during energy transformation has to be realized in all kinds of industries nowadays. Specifically, lighting is worldwide facility usage in our daily lives. Therefore, it is very significant to build up a Street Lighting Control System combined high efficiency with low energy consumption.Foremost, due to the facts on regional development in different locations of China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, have been running under advanced lighting control systems in aspects to proper management and monitoring from instant status feedbacks. However, the situation in rural areas appears not so positive as the lighting has been controlled by simply time set-up or sensors integration. There’s no doubt to achieve automatic lighting control by those approaches, however, it’s still difficult to achieve optimal system management. Especially during the maintenance when assign the human labors detecting on the roads which cost way more money and time investment. Absolutely, a design method of optimizing the lighting efficiency must be very compelling.The main objective in this paper is to study the lighting control terminal applied on roads based on Hi3511, to accomplish an infrastructural lighting system by integrated control, management and long range video monitoring. It can be extended into single lamp control and other control modes based on this research. The main idea of this design is to access the control of terminal from received information via 3G network on3G communication module, parsing the incoming data according to the defined protocol to achieve the final control effectiveness. Eventually supplemented by power source management circuits to build up a fully functioned and intelligent street lights controller.During the design phase, I used Altium Designer in hardware and PCB development, programming the hardware drive under Linux operating system, together using cross compiler to translate into executable files in ARM. The auxiliary tools consist of oscilloscope, multimeter, constancy current source etc. The testing results interpret this design can perform stable high efficiency in order to realize low energy consumption eventually.
