Virtualization, as the key technology of cloud computing, plays a very important role on it’s development. However, there are many different virtualization implementation technologies, and make different types of virtual machine resources appear within the same system.By researching the cloud computing and virtualization, this paper proposes a set of solutions to solve the problems of management for different virtual machine resources. What’s more, it verifies the validity of the system management layer, the resource abstraction layer, the high availability and communication mechanism between docker hosts. The thesis mainly involves the following work:Firstly, it comes to be the relevant background and technology research, which include the study on the features and classification of cloud computing, the different implementation and importance of virtualization.Secondly, it comes to be the design of management system for virtual machine lifecycle in cloud platform, which include the research on architecture, design solution and implementation principle. In the meantime, aimed at the specific design of the system management layer and resource abstraction layer, this paper proposes a set of solutions in cloud platform, and also completes the design of HA and communication mechanism between docker hosts.Thirdly, it comes to be the implementation of the system management layer and resource abstraction layer. Around this solutions, the thesis takes the specific experiment on them, which verifies the effectiveness of virtual machine lifecycle management solution.
