A Research To Appliance Of Enterprise X86Platform Vertualization And Its Realization Based On IaaS

IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) is currently the most widely applied service amongthree service models of the cloud computing. It enables corporations to optimize their ITinfrastructure resources and reduce cost on operation and maintenance while providing thefoundation for PaaS (Platform as a service) and SaaS (Software as a service). Corporationsneed to build up IaaS virtualization platform when they need to build up their IaaS privatecloud as virtualization technology is the core component for IaaS. Among variousvirtualization platforms, X86virtualization platform has obvious advantages through highercompatibility and lower cost on hardware and operation. As a result, research on X86platforms are more attractive to most domestic corporations than others such as platformsbased on UNIX or mainframe,The main purpose of this thesis is to find out a suitable model and implementationmethod to the IaaS virtualization platform for the corporation in the case studied to resolvetheir problems such as management difficulty and resource constrains on IT infrastructure andhigh cost on its operation and maintenance.This thesis carried out with following aspects: Firstly, it proposed a solution by analyzingproblems of corporation’s IT infrastructure facing in case studied, and conducted a feasibilityanalysis to the solution; Secondly, it defined their principles and plans on product selectionand implementation layout based on their target to build up a X86virtualization platform onIaaS basis for the corporation and figured out a detail implementation process and work steps;Then it specified effectively of the solution by introducing practical case of defined plans andprinciples on a newly set up IaaS virtualization platform. At last, it proved that the researchtarget of the thesis is accomplished by showing implementation results on performance andcircumstances of the virtualization platform after first phase project implementation.
