As one of the most essential elements,virtualization technology has enormous implication on the performance of the whole Cloud platform.Along with the widespread application of Cloud platform,virtualization technology itself catches public vision.Virtual machine is the most common-used and mature virtualization technology as it successfully meets the most fundamental intention of virtualization--abstraction of the real machine and isolation need.But as a virtualization technique based on architecture level,it costs too much resources and needs too much time to launch,it's not an idea solution for situation which is application oriented.In this thesis,we introduce Docker as a container-level virtualization technology,it keeps a good balance between virtualization intention and resource costs.Docker achieves well isolation and portable performance without wasting much resources which makes it much convenient to deploy and manage massive applications in a short time.In this thesis,we introduce the main concepts and thinking of Docker along with the fundamental usages and analyses the key techniques Docker used to achieve performance in isolation,container transplant and resource control.Besides that,we discuss the features of Docker comparing with virtual machine and propose the application situations suitable for Docker.Regarding the practice in enterprises,we build up a real software development environment with Docker.To solve the transport/upgrading problem we meet in massive application deployment with Docker,we modify Rsync algorithm to meet our need.
