Wireless Local Access Network(WLAN) nowadays is widely used in household equipment and handheld equipment, and is getting more widely applied in industrial fields like automobile communication field and digital multimedia field due to the rapid development of technologies in wireless applications. Besides, it has a plenty of applications such as Ad hoc network used in the wireless communication system of cableless seismometer. IEEE802.11family of wireless protocols gets bigger among the several existing Wireless Local Access Network (WLAN) protocols, and continually adopt new technologies to enhance anti-jamming capacity, to advance the data rate and to improve bandwidth efficiency. Key technologies research in WLAN Physical layer is leading the development in communication field and is meaningful to fundmental technologies.Wireless communication system has such requirements as low power consumption, high sensitivity to weak signals, high flexibility in diverse applications and good stability during the data acquisition process, the networking process and the information inversely collection process. In order to design a hardware platform and a communication mechanism which can meet the above requirements, I did a lot of research and got results as follows:1. Studied physical layer’s key technologies of several protocols from IEEE802.11series which are applied for both the transmitting path and the receiving path, made comparison of different implementation methods of the same technology, carried out simulation of them respectively, and finally get the right simulation.2. Designed layer management system for Media Acess Control (MAC) layer, Physical Layer Convergence Procedure (PLCP) layer and Physical Media Dependment (PMD) layer based on specifications in IEEE802.11protocols, and completed the system and the data transaction in it.3. Launched the basic hardware platform which is mainly composed of Zedboard and AD-FMCOMMS4.Configured the hardware platform according to requirements specified in IEEE802.11PHY layer,made system simulation with EDK(Embedded Development Kit),ajust the parameters of wireless transceiver, accomplished the function simulation of whole physical layer and short distance end-to-end communication, then analysed the result.
