Recently,energy conservations in all kinds of fields have already attracted professional researchers’ attentions in the industry, and the energy conservation of communication network is one of them. In application scenarios, such as broadband access networks and optical transmitters and receivers, there are a mass of the use and deployment of the fiber termination, and this part of energy consumption takes up a larger proportion of the total energy consumption in the whole network. Thus, in the research filed, people have more researches on the energy conservations of broadband access network systems and terminals. However, among numerous studies, the research of energy conservations for Active optical fiber terminal has been still blank.Whether the current Ethernet optical transceiver has data transmission or not, each internal module of the optical transceiver consumes energies and the energy consumption becomes unnecessary in the absence of data transmission. Therefore, this thesis has proposed an energy conservation project of Periodic dormancy master-slaver model which is based on three conditions. This project could make it into a dormant state under the condition that there is little data traffic or no data transmission in optical transmitter and receiver. The dormant optical transmitter and receiver will shut down parts of the modules in order to achieve energy conservation. To verify the energy-efficiency after the design of the program.The result of the simulation indicate that, on the one hand the smaller the period of sleep state the higher the energy efficiency is in the certain traffic. On the other hand the smaller the network load the higher the energy efficiency is in the certain period of sleep state.In addition, another problem in the actual business applications of EPON system is that user’s loop port which is caused by user’s equipment cascade or misconduct. The loop port will cause the data link layer frame forwarding confusion or errors, in turn causes all missions failure under the same PON, in that case, other users cannot use it neither.In order to reduce the influence of the loop on the EPON system, improve the operating efficiency of the network, this paper presents a design of EPON equipment port loop detection scheme, Fast Ethernet loop detection. Program requires the ability to quickly locate those OLT uplink port Ethernet loops exist, PON port, ONU or ONU Ethernet port. When it detects the presence of a network loop can generate alarms and automatically shut down occurs loop ONU side Ethernet port to prevent the impact of the loop on the network that can automatically remove the PON MAC address table, so that the business reply as soon as possible, so that the impact on the system caused by port loop minimized.
