With the development of modern telecommunication technology, people have a urgency of higher transition speed and more bandwidth allocation, the spectrum resources play a more and more important role in strategy level. For the several years in future, IMT service will face a extreme shortage of available frequency. As a typical service of IMT, TD-LTE keeps developing and improving both in technical and service levels after proposed, and the relative studies become a popular topic in telecommunication area. The objective of LTE is to increase date rate, reduce delay during transition, enlarge system capacity and solve cell margin cover issues to decrease expenses. LTE technology will develop faster due to4G licenses release. In some day,4G standard will be popularizcd in China and LTE will have a more urgent requirement for frequency resources. Nowadays,1427-1525MHz bandwidth which is one of the L band frequencies is under concerned.Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) is another widely used mobile service in L band. Compared with other telecommunication systems, MSS has advantages in wide cover range, long transition distance, stable and flexible communication characteristics. MSS is applicable to the commercial and military telecommunication requirements during the worldwide, and already became animportant developing direction for the future telecommunication technology. Therefore, the two systems may suffer co-channel or adjacentchannel interference in L band. These interfering signals received by victim system, will result in deterioration of communication performance, and affect the capacity and covering of communication network. So it is necessary to study the interference and co-existence issues between the two systems deeply. The result will have important theoretical and practical values. This paper mainly focuses on the types and levels of possible interferences when MSS and TD-LTE systems coexist in the same geographical area. Additional isolation needed for coexistence of the two systems in the worst case is studied by using deterministic analysis method. Using the Monte Carlo simulation, this paper also investigates the average capacity losses and marginal performance degradations of LTE and LTE-A caused by inter-system interference, and estimates the impacts on inter-system interference from some factors, such as system isolation and the offset between two BS sites. At last, several solutions ensuring the coexistence of these two systems are presented to minish the interference and protect the victim system.
