Tailings pood as the affiliated facilities in the process of mining safety production. Affectedby the natural environment factors,the tailings dam is easily to cause deformation and collapseaccident. Once the tailings dam appear the safety hidden trouble,the balance of ecologicalenvironment will face with destroy and people’s life and property safety would cause losses.Therefore, In order to early prediction treatment of the tailings safety and monitoring of the tailingsdam safety, design a kind of remote monitoringsystem becomes important and meaningful.This paper adopts single-chip microcomputer as the terminal control unit of tailings damsafety data collection. Through the GPRS network as the transmission medium of the monitoringdata information, complete transmitting the orders and receiving informations from the fieldmonitoring layer to the monitoring center. The monitoring center using VB as the monitoring andcontrol software of the upper machine. Receiving monitoring data and using the ActiveXtechnology call MATLAB neural network toolbox to analysis and prediction. The wholemonitoring system completed the monitoring and prediction of the tailings dam stability conditions.In this paper, the design work of the remote monitoring tailings dam safe stability systemsummarized as follows:1. In the remote monitoring system of tailing dam safety situation, introduces the BP neuralnetwork predictor the tailing dam safety stability situation, Setting up the network structure andparameters combined with the actual influence on the remote monitoring system of tailing damsafety situation. using the MATLAB software simulat the input data, The results show that the BPneural network prediction algorithm is feasible and accurate.2. The system adopt AT89S52single chip microcomputer for the monitoring parameterscollection and data processing. Analysis and design a detailed of hardware circuit of the dataterminal and data wireless transmissionmodule.3. In the aspect of software, completed the software design of the field monitoring data andsending data to monitoring center, the communication protocol of upper machine and field dataterminal, the method of receivingdata and analysis and processing the collectingdata.4. Completed the design of monitoring software VB call MATLAB neural network toolboxanalysis and processing the influenced parameter data of tailings dam safety situation, Design the program code. Input validation data, test running result of VB call MATLAB neural networktoolbox.The paper achieved the purpose of monitoring and analysis prediction to the tailings dam safestability situation, acquisit the influence parameters, and can achieve the purpose of analysis andpredict, basicallyachieve the expected design purpose of this monitoringsystem.
