Tailings reservoir is used to store a large amount of tailings which are produced with ore dressing by mining enterprise.It is an important auxiliary facility.Tailings reservoir brings the enterprise economic benefit in mine while it also causes environmental pollution and safety problem.In China,the development of tailings safety monitoring technology is slow and the industry norms are drawn up late.Along with the accelerated pace of urbanization,most of our original tailings reservoirs are near densely populated areas or ecologically sensitive regions,so that the inherent design flaws cannot be eradicated.After the GPS and GLONASS,China becomes one of the three countries which build and use satellite navigation and position system in the world.Beidou satellite system has its unique advantage that can simultaneously position,navigate and make short-message communication.This advantage is not possessed by other global satellite systems.Beidou satellite communication technology has the characteristics of high safety performance,long communication distance and wide coverage,especially it is suitable for the application of remote data transmission and long-distance safety monitoring.Based on the status of the tailings safety monitoring and the characteristics of beidou satellite communication technology,this paper put forward its own scheme which was based on beidou satellite and GPRS double channels of the tailings safety monitoring system.Furthermore it was realized by two kinds of communication methods of intelligent switch technology application in the terminal device.It not only get rid of the traditional communication way dependence on mobile network signal,but also met the needs of long-distance safety monitoring in some remote areas where mobile network cannot cover.The contribution of this work can be listed as following:(1)Based on the current situation of the development of tailings safety monitoring at home and abroad,this paper analyzed the existing problems in the current long-distance data transmission,proposed the design of double channel communication based on beidou satellite communication and GPRS mobile network communication,and applied the intelligent switching technology of two kinds of communication methods to the tailings safety monitoring in an innovative way,which improved the stability and flexibility of data transmission over a long distance.(2)Set up the framework of this monitoring system.This system was mainly composed of the terminal equipment,beidou communication antennas,GPRS communication modules,a beidou command machine,a monitoring center platform and the other parts.The monitoring center platform sent control commands to the terminal device by beidou satellites or GPRS.The terminal device completed parsing the commands,and then,controlled the module and the corresponding program to complete the relevant operations according to the commands.Finally,the results of the execution were fed back to the monitoring center platform via the communication system.(3)Finished the embedded hardware and software design.The design of hardware circuit parts included the main control unit,the beidou communication unit,the GPRS communication unit,the power control unit,the storage unit,the interface unit and the LED unit.Software parts,based on ?C/OS-II embedded operating system,completed the task designs of the serial port access interface,sensor access interface,beidou communication and GPRS network communication.(4)Completed the overall design of the monitoring center platform.The monitoring center management software was designed by C# language.It not only provided the functions of communication with the remote terminal devices,but also realized the functions of the storage,management and real-time data display.We also debugged and tested the beidou communication modules and the GPRS communication modules respectively,and then measured to evaluate the stability of the beidou satellite communication.
