With the social development, resource scarcity, environmental protection and construction safety are concerned increasingly. Construction process consumes a great number of electrical energy, reinforced concrete and other resources and has a significant impact to the environment. Besides, the complexity and risk in construction site determine the importance of construction safety. So, the idea of green and safe construction receives more and more recognition and a range of corresponding policies and standards are developed by corporate, local and state government. In this context, we propose to conduct research of real-time monitoring and management system of electric energy, environment and construction safety information in the process of green and safe construction.Firstly, based on systematically analyzing and summarizing the knowledge of green and safe construction, construction energy consumption and monitoring, construction environment and safety information monitoring and other aspects, research topic and issue are given a clear specification.Secondly, through expert interview, experiment design and other methods, demand analysis and function modules of the real-time construction energy, environment and safety information monitoring system are clarified and the key techniques and the hardware requirements are confirmed.Thirdly, based on the knowledge of Lab VIEW programming software, the usage of NI data acquisition hardware, circuit design and construction, we design the slave machine support program and master machine system to monitor and manage power consumption in real-time by Lab VIEW and NI data acquisition devices. With this system, we can achieve the predefined management objectives and alarm function by simulating several major electric equipments in construction site.Then, by running PM10sensor within homemade circuit board in construction site, the dust can be monitored and alarmed in real-time. At the same time, temperature and humidity sensors and carbon monoxide sensors are integrated into our hardware, the corresponding data can be collected and transmitted in real-time by the WSN Node3202and ZIGBEE protocol to the Host PC. It can remind managerial personnel to take corresponding measures. Next, a remote independently operating sub system for safety monitoring is designed. It makes use of Arduino to drive ultrasonic sensor and measure the distance between construction workers and hazard sources. In addition, this module can communicate with LabVIEW main system through VISA and realize mobile and web terminal control based on web server technology.Lastly, the whole system is operated to examine the running effect and the feasibility of the system is confrimed.The developed system can facilitate to manage the electrical equipments in construction site, conduct construction on-site environmental assessment and implement security management. The system finally achieves three objectives, including electricity, environment and safety information monitoring and control. This reaserch provides a strong support to green and safe construction.
