Batch material, as an important input of welded pipe manufactory process, has an great impact on the whole process of welded pipe manufactory in terms of the quality and the performance of inventory management. A high efficient management of batch mateirials inventory will reduce the manufacturing cost and also reinforce the executive ability.Based on an information construction of a welded pipe manufactory, this thesis focused on the batch materials inventory management optimization. After collecting and gathering the demands and suggestion from the managers and staff on the front line in the company, advices and suggestion about the system construction were proposed. The system has been built and delivered to the clients.TQM management thoery was brought in on the building process of batch material inventory management system. Meanwhile, a DEA-CI optimization management method was studied and put into use in this system.Main storyline is as follows:1. The meaning, function, structure and history of the MES were illustrated in this thesis. Meanwhile, on what role does batch materials inventory management play in Manufacturing Execution System was analyzed.2. Consider to build a connection between the TQM management theory and batch materials inventory management. The possibility of the combination was discussed. After an investigation of demands with the management theory was implemented, the design process of the batch materials inventory management system was illustrated.3. The structure of the management system has been built basing on the demand analysis and TQM theory. Using the UML method, an object model, sequence diagram model are created. The database design, programming, and system debugging were finished. The system was delivered to the clients.4. Optimization management of the batch materials inventory system was studied. CI method was combined with DEA model and put into the inventory classification and management. Compared with the DEA-CCR method, CI method has a better performance in inventory classification. And an intuitive explanation and empirical guidance to choose the parameters in the model were proposed.
