Design And Application Of Colostomy Telenursing System

ObjectiveWith the rapid development of communication and mobile terminals, especially with the popularity of smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices, but also for telenursing guide colostomy complications provides a new way. This paper analyzes the characteristics of colostomy complications care, analyzes the feasibility of colostomy telenursing. In order to improve the patient’s medical colostomy complications experience, improve the patient self-care and quality of life, this thesis designed and implemented a colostomy telenursing and health guidance system based on wireless communication, which can help improve the quality of life of colostomy patients.MethodsThe colostomy telenursing system consists of client terminal and server system, and the telenursing system runs in two ways:offline consulting and real-time visual consulting. Under the off-line consulting way, patients upload the complication history information, current symptoms and lesions in the skin, photos of colostomy to the server by the client temminal. Under the way of real-time video consulting, patients make connections with colostomy division by voice and video, communicate with ETs and get nursing advices. At the end of the telenursing instruction, patients are required to evaluate the service on the Internet, including comments and suggestions to our system for convenience, as well as to the staff quality of work, in order to improve the quality of service system and the medical workers. In view of the actual cases treatment, statistical analysis, the results are given. Results256patients with colostomy complications were treated by telenursing,64.8%(166cases) patients could complete self-care, no need to go to the hospital;35cases (13.7%) patients did not improved significantly after a week and went to the hospital;21.5%(55cases) patients were relatively more serious, went to the hospital in time following the ET advices. The response time of256cases of patients by telenursing was analyzed, about60%(n=153) of patients could get responses in1hour, including59patients with real-time service model; more than94%of patients could get nursing instruction within2hours.ConclusionSince the operation of the colostomy telenursing system has obtained good social efficiency, reduced patient’s economic burden, and is especially convenient for the disabled patients to get nursing and health instruction. Survey shows that the system has obvious advantages, is welcomed by patients and has great popularization value. Telenursing of colostomy complications, of course, is still in the preliminary and exploratory stage, the service mode, software system also need to be further explored and perfected.
