Compact antenna test range (CATR) is a very important method in the field of antenna testing, which combines the advantages of near-field and far-field antenna testing method, especially at THz band. Tri-reflector CATR is an improvement of the double-reflector CATR, which is composed by a feed, two shaped sub-reflectors and a spherical main-reflector. It has better performance than double-reflector CATR.Now our laboratory has designed a tri-reflector CATR system, which is working from100GHz to500GHz. In the previous system simulation work, the feed in the system is assumed as ideal Gaussian feed without cross-polarization and other factors that have profound impact on the performance of the tri-reflector CATR.This paper’s main work is to verify the characteristics of the non-ideal feed’s impact on the tri-reflector CATR. This paper successfully created the different level of cross-polarization created by trigonometric and evaluated this factor’s impact on the system. The author also designed four ultra-Gaussian feeds which covers the band from90GHz to357GHz, and evaluated the performance of the CATR when using these feeds’radiation fields as input field of the system. This work has found an simulation basis on the building of the CATR.
