Compact antenna test range(CATR)is an important technology in the field of antenna testing.It plays an important role in antenna testing techniques such as near-field testing,far-field testing,and compact field testing,especially in today's rapid development of millimeter-wave,sub-millimeter-wave or even terahertz frequency bands,has a prominent role.At present,the compact field antenna test system developed at home and abroad includes a single mirror compact field antenna measurement system,a dual mirror compact field antenna measurement system,and a triple mirror compact field antenna measurement system.Among them,the single-reflector CATR antenna measurement system starts earlier than the double-reflector and tri-reflector CATR antenna measurement systems.Although it is simpler in structure than the latter two,the single-reflector CATR antenna measurement system has been The quiet zone efficiency that has been difficult to upgrade has led researchers to seek other methods to improve quiet zone efficiency.This paper introduces a new solution in detail.In terms of simulation,the professional simulation software CST is used to design the dual-slot coaxial feed horn that meets the specific radiation pattern as the feed.The professional simulation software GRASP is used to bring the simulation data of the feed into the single-reflector CATR antenna measurement system and a CATR of high quiet zone utilization is obtained.In terms of processing and testing,the best feed model obtained during the design process was processed and tested.As with the simulation results,the single-reflector CATR antenna measurement system built using GRASP also obtained a high-efficiency compact field system.In order to verify the correctness of the design,the authors fully compared the simulation results of the dual-slot coaxial feed horn feed and the machining test results,and obtained the ideal results,that is,the model simulation results are basically consistent with the physical processing test results.At the same time,the simulation results of the dual-slot coaxial feed horn feed and the results of the physical test are respectively compared with the GRASP simulation results of the single-reflector CATR antenna measurement system.The output fields of the two cases are analyzed,and the system is given.The various output parameters have obtained ideal results.In addition,the effect of the shaped pattern feed is highlighted by comparison with the compact field radiation characteristics illuminated by an ordinary Gaussian feed.Finally,an attempt is made to apply the shaped pattern feed to the single-reflection antenna to improve the antenna gain and directivity,and simulate the entire single-reflection antenna using the simulation software FEKO,through the use of ordinary horn feeds.Single-reflector antennas are compared to reflect the advantages of shaped pattern feeds.
