This paper deals with the research and the design of wide-flare-angle sparse-slot corrugated conical horn in Ka band, axial-path-slot corrugated conical horn in Ku band and dual-mode corrugated conical horn in Ku band, which can be used as one of the most important constitutions of the feed system of the reflector antenna for the mobile satellite communications.Firstly, this paper introduces the foundational theory of the general horn antenna, including the generation, the constitution and the basic method to solve the radiation field of the horn. Then the paper presents the theory of the corrugated conical horn and multi-mode horn, including the configurations, the characteristics of propagation and the calculations of the radiation field. And also discusses the design parameters of the corrugated conical horn and the multi-mode horn antenna in turn. Then shows the chosen sizes and the figures of the configurations of the wide-flare-angle sparse-slot corrugated conical horn in Ka band and the axial-path-slot corrugated conical horn in Ku band separately. This paper also shows the simulated and measured results. It can be seen from these results that both of the two corrugated conical horns can meet the requirements well.To design the multi-mode cross-polarization cancellation conical horn in Ku band, we propose a novel dual-mode corrugated conical horn antenna, which introduces a specific higher-order mode, in order to remove the cross-polarization causing by the asymmetry of an offset parabolic reflector system. And this paper also shows the configuration and simulated results. Finally, we summarize the research of the paper, and also the references of this paper are at the end.
