Most of the traditional university laboratories use artificial management pattern, such as paper manual to record the original information and usage of equipment. Because of the increase in the number and the expanded scale of laboratories, along with variety of the equipment, more frequent use of precision instruments, these non-automated management cannot reach the requirements of managers and users.In order to establish the advanced laboratory equipment management system, this paper introduces the Radio Frequency Identification technology. It is a non-contacting sensor technology, which uses radio frequency signals to static or dynamic objects for automatic identification.Every piece of equipment will be identified accurately if RFID reader is used to read and write its only identification E-tag. At the same time, radio frequency identification technology can also be combined with the current popular mobile communications, Internet technology and so on. Due to intelligent recognition and automatic management, problems like equipment lost and improper care caused by human error can be avoided. Ordinary users can quickly locate the equipment for experiments. Equipment managers significantly reduce workload and improve work efficiency. While senior managers grasp the dynamic situation of labs for more scientific management.In consideration of the present situation and existing problems of university laboratory management, combined with applications of RFID technology in the laboratory management, the paper describes the practical significance of the application of RFID automatic recognition technology in the laboratory equipment management system. After research in school laboratory equipment management, RFID high-frequency (HF) module is used as hardware tool, the B/S (Browser/server) mode, the C#programming language in Visual Studio2010platform and SQL Server2008database system are used as software tools to develop the system. After the analysis of system requirements, it is clear about the design principle, overall architecture of the system, the develop environment, main functions etc. A summary design of the system is conducted. We also focus on the structure design of the system database and data tables. And according to the three types of users of the system, implementation and testing of key functional module such as user login, system management, equipment management, statistical analysis are completed.If the mature RFID technology is applied to the school laboratory equipment management system, the domestic school laboratory equipment management will be intelligent and integrated.
