Multimedia conference contains a variety of expressionforms, such as video, picture, word and so on. It carries more and more service business. Based on the research tasks of national science and technology subject, we implement the multimedia conference system. The traditional multimedia conference system has some problems such as a limited storage capacity and low utilization. Cloud computing implements flexible resource allocation and providing on-demand service through the unified management and scheduling of the resource pool in a reasonable manner, so deploying multimedia conference system on a cloud computing platform has a great significance.The main work of this thesis is divided into four parts:First, we implement the media adapter middleware. Multimedia conference system has many media processing servers supported by different vendors with different media session rules and capabilities. A conference control server can connect only one fixed type of media server. In the current system, the conference server can not conduct the switching connection and configuration freely in the various types of media servers. In order to support the heterogeneous structure of media connection, this module implements the freedom of media connection and automatic deployment, making the meeting server has the ability of connecting to any type of media servers and effectively reduces the cost of manualoperation.Next is the unified persistent storage and backup of the conference information. Cloud computing platform is flexible in using resources. Virtual conference servers store information in the local database, but operations like deleting, moving, restarting virtual servers may lead to the loss of original conference information. So we realize the unified persistent storage and backup of conference servers in our system.The third is the resource management of conference system. It is an essential part of implementation of multimedia conference system based on cloud to allocate resources dynamically, according to the system load condition and requirement of users. It can control the resources through some operations like deleting, creating or restarting the servers.Finally is retrieval and query function of the conference information. It is important to monitor the existing conference information and analyze the historical information. This module provides a view of conference information of a single node server.We implement the web front-end for the management system of multimedia conference to provide users with a visualinterface.At the end of this thesis, we carry out the experiment and test on the management system of multimedia conference to verify its availability. While the management system of multimedia conference realized in this thesis is in view of the laboratory’s project, the design of function modules also has reference significance for other multimedia conference system.
