With wireless communication technology advancing,2Q3Q4G and other wireless access technologies coexist. Macro base stations, micro base stations and pico base stations form a big network, which makes the wireless communication network grow rapidly. Because of the high-speed expansion of network scale, maintaining and optimizing the network has become extremely difficult for people who has the traditional network operation and maintenance experience. Although it spends a lot of money, the effect is general. Then self-organizing network (SON) technology has been raised, which made the network self-configuration, optimization and recovery work easy to do. And it has been widely studied. Self-organizing network is composed of self-configuring, self-optimizing and self-healing.At first, this paper gives a brief introduction of LTE-Advanced system and analyszes several key techniques of LTE-Advanced, and then focuses on the analysis and research of SON network technology. The study work of self-organizing network technology can be mainly divided into the following three aspects.Firstly, the paper analyzes the three main objectives of SON. Relay stations are automatically added to the network, including their initial self-configuration. Network performance problems are automatically optimized. Cell outage because of a fault is automatically detected and then gived recovery strateges. Technical details of these three functions are separately analyzed.Secondly, this thesis studies the cell outage detection module, whose key idea is that combining diffusion mapping dimensionality reduction algorithm and k-means clustering algorithm to diagnose, discover, judge and locate the outage cell in the network. The two algorithms have been applied very successfully in other areas. Cell outage detection scheme firstly uses diffusion mapping dimensionality reduction algorithms to reduce the dimension of high dimensional nonlinear network performance data which are gathered from multiple sources and to get the low-dimensional feature of the original input data. And then through the k-means clustering algorithm for low-dimensional clustering feature we can quickly, efficiently, online, real-time and automatically discover and locate the unexpected cell outage failure in the network. The cell outage detection scheme is not only able to discover a single cell outage failure, but also it can quickly detect, find and locate failures which are made up of many cells outage in a region of the network.Thirdly, it gives the multi-cell joint cell outage compensation scheme. The project team developed a cell outage compensation and optimization system based on Mapinfo software. The system is developed based on Dongguan City, Guangdong Province maps. Not only it is helpful to study the cell outage compensation scheme design and simulation verification for us, but it can be used as the network optimization and outage compensation tools to help maintenance and operator staff to analyze and resolve the failure of the network. We propose a scheme which needs joint multi-cell RF parameters adjusted to compensate outage cell. On the basis of outage compensation and optimized simulation system the outage compensation scheme was simulated. The result of simulation shows that the outage compensation scheme only sacrifices a small portion of the users’performance from adjacent cell, but can effectively improve users’received signal power from outage cell and provide basic communication services for them.
