With the rapid development of the wireless network, the entire network shows feature of high complexity, large scale, open and dynamics. There are more and more wireless network parameters, increasing complexity of network management. Users’perception of wireless network services become more sensitive to the quality of service, their requirements become more demanding, so there requests a wireless network to be able to quickly respond to users. Traditional artificial network optimization, repair, configuration and reconfiguration mean not only larger delay time, but also bring the high maintenance costs. In order to reduce the high cost of operating expense, and optimize the efficiency of the management of the network, the key technology of self-organizing network (SON) in the radio access network is introduced.SON is an important part of the3GPP LTE standardization, SON concept is introduced in3GPP R8. With continuous improvement from R9to R12, SON standardization work has been gradually maturing. Domestic, the China Communications Standards Association also held a number of meetings to carry out discussions and standardization work of the self-organizing network (SON) for the radio access network management technology in2012, the SON network management framework, processes, and interface is defined. At present, domestic and foreign research on SON contain a lot of work, such as Ericsson smart simple SON technology, Nokia Siemens Networks SON technology to reduce operating expenses and improve network quality automatic operation, Huawei Single SON used to improve wireless access technology and save costs of multilayer RAN network operating etc.This thesis is a theoretical summary and refining of the author’s research outcome based on the research project that he involved during graduate studies. Firstly, this article studies with a view of the system level performance, researching on system architecture and key technologies of LTE and SON technical to pave the way to propose specific self-healing algorithm. Then, two specific self-healing algorithms and a new outage compensation cell select scheme are proposed in the field of self-healing which has been lack of research. Single-cell outage recovery cannot solve some type of hardware outage fault, so our new idea is a multi-cell joint compensation scheme to make up for the coverage holes produced by outage cell. A cell outage compensation algorithm based on the determined solution interval is proposed to select the compensation cell according to the quality redundant parameters, this compensation algorithm can make up the coverage hole and do not bring about reduction of the overall performance of the network. We also proposed an efficient multi-cell joint self-healing algorithm. It not only prioritize the compensation objectives but also prioritize hierarchical adjust parameter, so we can increase the diversity of solutions and ensure the full search of the multiple parameters while do not bring damage to the whole structure of candidate solutions. A compensation cell classification standard is presented at last to study the compensation performance of different types of compensation cell. The compensation effect of different compensation cell is simulated based on Maplnfo to provide a new theoretical basis for further cell outage self-healing research.
