With the development of information technology industry, more and more people use information technology in the management of the industrial production process, including control, monitoring and warning. By doing this, people can not only improve productivity, but also reduce the probability of accidents. Petrochemical industry is the basic industry, and it is also the backbone of the national economy. Therefore, to ensure safety in production of petrochemical enterprises is of particular significance. Petrochemical industry equipment inspection is carried out to ensure basic safety work. Traditional ways of inspection are receiving in many human factors, for example, the information submitted is not timely, inefficient management, longe processing cycles. In order to improve the efficiency of the petrochemical industry inspection and ensure safe and efficient production, the paper proposes a PDA-based inspection system.Firstly, the paper shows the development of intelligent inspection system abroad and found that the smart and efficient inspection system plays a crucial role in the enterprise, research and analysis the RFID technology, Windows CE and other development of related technologies. Then the paper shows the design of the PDA inspection system based on the requirements analysis, system and functional planning. This system has the following features:recording inspection jobs, problems’real-time feedback, uploading and alarming abnormal data, implementing inspection tasks, implementing temporary inspection tasks, uploading emergency task, uploading hidden information, managing accountability and recovery. All the task data terminals and abnormal data in patrol will be uploaded to the server in time over the wireless network to statistic device status and maintain and replace the equipment with problems timely. I achieved the above functions by using C#programming techniques, and developed friendly graphical interface for every various functional modules to improve the convenience of the PDA. At last, paper shows test cases for each functional module, According to which functions of the inspection system were tested, test results show that the system meets the needs of the inspection jobs and can be put into practical use.This paper puts forward the PDA intelligent inspection system, which has full function, simple operation and friendly users’interface, it is convenient for inspection workers to use and it also can improve the inspection workers’enthusiasm of work, it help to guarantee the safety operation of the equipment. The inspection system has good application in practical work.Although the applications of this software improve the efficiency of the inspection work, there remain some shortcomings of this system, for example, Interface design should be amended in accordance with the specific use of the real needs.
