GEO satellite mobile communication system is in the development in China. How to optimize the satellite mobile communication network in order to improve the quality of service has become the most important issue. The focus of current research is to establish an efficient system with the function of fault detection, network maintenance and optimization combined with the status quo of GEO satellite mobile communication system network according to the GMR-13G signaling monitoring requirements. Therefore, a signaling monitor system which can monitor real-time network, locate and alarm faults, test online and analyse comprehensively on the collected data in the GEO satellite mobile communication system plays a very important role. It is of great importance to research the signaling monitor system in order to develop, build and maintain the GEO satellite mobile communication system.The Iu interface is one of the most important interfaces of the mobile satellite communication system. This subject makes a deep research on Iu interface include the protocol stack structure, protocol specifications and business process standards. With regarding to the practical requirement of the operators, this paper suggests a more reasonable plan of the signaling monitoring system for the problem of existing network monitoring devices. this solution will enhance the network operating efficiently, and resolve the issue of data congestion of the network. This paper consists of these parts:Firstly, the background, the basic principle, and the significancy of the topic has been demonstrated; Secondly, based on the introduction to the overall structure and software architecture of the signaling monitoring system, paper elaborates the general solution to signaling monitoring of Iu interface and the implemention of decoding monitoring、CDR generation and statistics. After that, combining with the actual testing data, paper has tested and verified the decoding、synthesis and statistics modules of this mentioned monitoring technology solution. Finally, this paper comprehensively summarized the researches and development that has done in this thesis, and points out the future trend of further research and application.
