The passive location technology has been well developed in recent years. According to electromagnetic signals received by antenna elements, using a specific location algorithm to calculate the precise position of the signal source. The passive location technology can provide location service and tracking service, the emergence of this technology is not due to strong business demand, but based on national defense and social security. With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, the passive location technology has also made great progress and is widely used in military and business field, made a huge contribution to people’s life, social development and nation security.This dissertation studies a new passive location technology-WCDMA Mobile uplink signal measurement and mobile device passive location system, the system can be divided into two parts:the mobile uplink signal strength measurement subsystem and the direction finding subsystem of correlated interferometer. According to the subsystems, two key parameters can be obtained:the signal strength and the signal direction. Workers can use the signal strength to judge the distance of the signal source and use the signal direction to judge the direction of the signal source and finally get the position of the signal source.First of all, this dissertation introduces the basic theories of the WCDMA mobile uplink signal measurement and mobile device passive location system, mainly focused on the principles of direct sequence spread spectrum direction finding of correlated interferometer, lays a theoretical foundation for the next introduction of the project realization. Then, this dissertation introduces the structure of the system hardware modules, it uses FPGA+DSP mode. In the mobile uplink signal strength measurement subsystem, the RF and IF processing sections are into the FPGA module and the despreading section is put into the DSP module. After the despreading, the system can get I,Q two signals and use the signals to calculate the signal strength. In the direction finding subsystem of correlated interferometer, the RF and IF processing sections are into the FPGA module and the correlated interferometer section is put into the DSP module. Finally, the dissertation inttoduces the software process, the software design of the system and mainly focused on the dispreading algorithm and the correlated interferometer algorithm. And test the modules.
