Passive detection technology is very important in locating specific radiation source targets which can be applied into fields such as aerospace, aviation, navigation and electronic warfare. Compared to active positioning technology, advantages of good concealment and robustness can be achieved.Based on the structure of passive detection and location systems, the method of passive bearing crossing location, time difference location method and passive location using FDOA (Frequency Difference of Arrival) method are introduced respectively. Furthermore, a new method, combining passive bearing crossing locating method with time difference location method, is put forward, and its location accuracy for high speed reentry targets based on multi-airborne-station and optimal station deployment are discussed. Simulation is conducted as well. Following all these improvements, location accuracy distribution diagram, corresponding to different station deployments and different measurement errors, are given. Some valuable conclusions and simulation results are also obtained, which are helpful for development of airborne electronic detection equipment and systems.
