Design And Implementation Of Openflow-Based Inter-Domain Cooperative Network Management System

At present when it comes to multi-autonomous domains network environment, there is no good solution to inter-domain network management. The main existing research result is inter-domain cooperative communication signaling mechanism, but there is no complete application and lack of available network environment to test and verify. Therefore, based on OpenFlow, a mechanism that consists of cooperation request’s creation, distribution and execution is proposed as a complete solution to inter-domain cooperative management. In creation, management policy descript language is used to elaborate policies; in distribution, topology abstraction and path finding are processed, and messages including request and reply all follow the existed cooperative inter-domain signaling; in execution, features of programmable¢ralized network control of OpenFlow network are exploited to allow OpenFlow switches to execute the encapsulated commands.And an inter-domain cooperative network management system is developed and implemented. This system includes3important components:IDM, Adapter and Controller. IDM is responsible for cooperation requests’ creation and reply, and delivering messages among domains. Adapter is responsible for decoding policies in request and then mapping them to a set of OpenFlow commands. Controller is responsible for the communication with OpenFlow switches, such as collecting OpenFlow network information&sending commands to OpenFlow switches.Through constructing OpenFlow multi-domain network environment, and testing the system on top of this, proved that the system is robust and effective, and also verified the feasibility of inter-domain cooperative network management mechanism.
