This thesis presents the author’s work in design and implementation of warmingclothes monitoring system based on Android mobile phone for the limb-disabledpatients. In this project, the Android mobile phone is used as the host computer; aremote temperature controller that is based on AVR-MCU is used as the slavecomputer. Also, this design employs Bluetooth-based communication between thehost and slave computer, PID algorithm in warming control, and high-powerlithium-ion battery as power source.In this thesis, the software designs of host and slave computer are introduced.The hardware design of slave computer is also discussed. First, a temperature sensoron remote temperature controller measures the ambient temperature, and other twotemperature sensors measure the temperatures at two different points of clothes. Afterbeing processed by slave computer, the temperature data is sent to the mobile phonevia Bluetooth serial module and displayed in screen. Then, the phone can sendcommands to the slave computer to control startup and shutdown of the clothesheating system, and set the control parameters via Bluetooth. The slave computercontrols the temperatures of clothes to reach the temperature settings by PIDalgorithm. Entire slave computer including heating system is supplied by ahigh-power lithium-ion battery. A lithium-ion battery monitoring chip is used tomonitor battery status, and the data of remaining power can be sent to the hostcomputer.By analyzing the hardware and software requirements of the warming clothesmonitoring system, the author of this thesis has designed the communication schemein this system based on Bluetooth, built the corresponding software and hardwaredevelopment environment, and written all codes for both host and slave sides.Experimental results show that the scheme design based on Bluetooth wireless communication is correct and effective, and various software and hardware moduleshave achieved the design goals.
