With the rapid development of society, residents living electricity consumptionrise sharply, watt-hour meter reading quantity increases gradually, electricitymanagement costs increase, the management is more and more complex, difficult ofthe traditional meter reading technology already cannot satisfy the demand of thepower supply management. In this paper, based on the research of the existing meterreading technology, the idea of Internet of things, using ZigBee wirelesscommunication technology and GPRS network technology, to realize the remotewireless meter reading. The system in the process of design is mainly divided intohardware design and software design. Software design is mainly on hardwareinterface program as well as the physical address assigned to write, using. NETdevelopment platform to write control platform management software, realizes thecollection of data and analysis capabilities. Hardware part mainly aimed at thecollector, concentrator, coordinator of the overall framework design, equipment andmake the corresponding module.ZigBee module in this system mainly adopts CC2430chip, GPRS moduleadopts SIM100chips. Network mode, divided into local area networks and wide areanetwork, local area network (LAN) to build a tree of the network topology structure,composed of collector, its main function is to watt-hour meter data acquisition andtransmission. Wide-area network mainly consists of the concentrator and thecoordinator, the part of the main function is to receive automatic transmission of data,through the concentrator will be uploaded to the coordinator, the coordinator via aserial port to pass data to the control center. In the process of data transmission, datareceiving using CC2430chips, connected to the Internet through SIM100chip, dataremote transmission. Control center after receiving the data, the data storage andanalysis. Through the above design, realized the wireless data transmission to meet the requirements of the wireless meter reading system. The main content of this paperare as follows:The first part first introduced the research background and significance, on theInternet of things and remote meter reading technology overview, lead to the theme ofthe study, analysis and study of the meaning of; Secondly, the paper analyzes thecurrent situation of related research, summarizes the overview of the existing researchstatus, provide certain theoretical basis for the subsequent research; And introducedthe main content of this study; In the final analysis the structure of this chapter andsummary. The second part mainly introduces the related contents of remote meterreading system, analyzes the communication technology of remote meter readingsystem mainly includes the ZigBee and GPRS technology. Secondly introduces thehardware and software components of long-distance meter reading system. Again, thispaper summarizes the remote meter reading system network structure and informationflow. In this chapter, for remote meter reading system based on Internet of thingsbelow application ready.The third part of the application of remote meter reading system based onInternet of things to make, this paper first defines the concept and characteristics ofthe Internet of things, and then on this basis, analyzes the Internet of things in theapplication of the smart grid, and explores the application of remote meter readingsystem based on Internet of things needs, again, are analyzed in detail the remotemeter reading system based on Internet of things of practical application, and make aconcrete analysis. Fourth and fifth part discusses the results, this paper introduces theresearch achievements and the deficiencies, and the full text summary and prospect.Summarizes the research results and disadvantages, as well as the outlook for laterresearch.
