Color Measuring&Matching Software, a computer color measuring&matching application based on multi-fields’knowledge and comprehensive applications of modern physical optics, mathematics and instrument measuring, is effective to replace the traditional manual color matching. The development of color measuring&matching software is a high risk operation due to the published defective theoretical algorithm, uncertainty of experimental process and the fuzzy function demands of software. On the other hand, the insufficient project management will lead to the slow project progress, delayed target schedule and increased cost. In order to avoid the occurrence of this kinds of problems, it would be best to determine the reasonable project scope at early stage&comprehensive check the periodical and final achievements, so as to get a better control of all the problems.This article is carried out the project management scope based on the development project of Color Measuring&Matching Software of S Company. To collect comprehensive demands from the domestic paint industry at the beginning of the project, and to finalize the project scope based on the effective analysis of the collected demands. Aimed to translate project to specific achievement deliverable, the project scope could be defined when the development and management procedure of the software acted as WBS of second level element. Creating processes to control and tracking project changes to avoid project scope out of range. After verifying the deliverable achievement and WBS by checking at the end of stages and the end of project, the actual evaluation of the performance of project management comes out at last by combining the score and weight of the management effect.Hope above theory could be referred by research on project management scope of developing measuring&matching software.
