Requirements Management Of Mobile Application Development Projects In A Media Company

C Media Company, a key media company of China. In recent years, with the development of mobile internet, the media company gradually expands the business to mobile terminal applications. Due to the relatively weak R&D capability, the mobile applications in C Media Company are usually outsourced to other development companies. However, based on the traditional development experience, the lack of scientific and effective requirements prioritization model and the accompanying requirements management process, some important needs are not able to be achieved as soon as possible and be cut in the latter part of the project, considering the cost and resource constrains, eventually leading to a large gap between mobile applications and their expectations, and lower customer satisfaction.Based on the traditional requirement management approaches, in this paper, we fully consider the characteristics of the media company and the mobile application development projects, re-sort the core business needs, obtaining the characteristics of the mobile application development projects in Media Company:frequent requirements changes, small-scale, short duration and so on. These features result in a number of key areas of requirement management, e.g. requirements capture, requirements changes etc., difficult to effectively control. To solve this problem, from the perspective of analyzing the requirements priority, we guarantee the completeness of the main functions in each iteration stage of the project; Meanwhile, based on the result of the requirements priority, we improve the requirement management process, which can effectively meet the mobile application development projects in Media Company, to guarantee such projects completed faster and better. In this paper, for analysis and improvement of the requirements management process of mobile applications in C Media Company, we mainly made the following findings:1、We analyzed the popular methods of demand orioritization, and combining with the core objectives of mobile applications, expanded the practical application of AHP in requirements priority calculation;2、We compared and analyzed the traditional methods with agile methods in terms of their characteristics in requirements management, with priority division, we improved several major aspects of the requirements management process;3、The improved requirements management process is applied to the electronic magazine R application development projects, experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively improve requirements management process of mobile application in C Media company, leading to the improvement of user satisfaction.
