With the incessant advance of electronic technology and rapid development of computertechnology, the instrumentation technology has been changing enormously. Against thisbackground, virtual instrumentation came into being. Because of the strong ability ofcomputer to compute and process, virtual instrumentation expands the traditional instrumentbased on instrumentation technology. At present, the computer development platform calledLabVIEW is widely used in this field, which is provided by NI in the USA. LabVIEW hasbecome an important tool in the development of virtual instrumentation.The system is designed and developed in strict accordance with the scientific designprocess. A data acquisition system with a lower computer control core of FPGA and asoftware development platform of LabVIEW is designed and developed. In the dataacquisition module, through the multiple acquisition channels and communication methodsincluding Ethernet and wireless, signals of voltage, temperature and strain can be collected atthe same time. Furthermore, a variety of functions are realized, such as storage, preview andthe remote control. In the signal analysis module, not only the traditional signal analysismethod can be used, but also many modern spectrum analysis methods are included. Thus themultifaceted analysis can be made of the device under test, and more comprehensive stateinformation of the device can be provided to the user.First of all, the basic concepts of virtual instrumentation and the present developmentsituation at home and abroad is introduced, the design requirements of the data acquisitionand analysis system is put forward. The overall design scheme is presented, and the specificdesign ideas of the hardware platform and software platform are illustrated. Second, thefunctions and design process of the modules are introduced in detail, starting from theacquisition module and analysis module. Among them, a number of implementation methods are analyzed in detail, like the Ethernet technology, dynamic invocation, multithreadingtechnology, and custom control. Finally, the strict test is performed on each function moduleof data acquisition and data analysis. The practicability and reliability of the s ystem is verifiedat last.
