With the deepening of the understanding of health, people pay more and moreattention to the sub-health status. The quality of sleep and fatigue monitoring has becomea focus of attention. For this purpose, a real-time detection system of multi-channelelectrocardiogram (ECG)and electroencephalogram (EEG) acquisition and analysis wasdesigned. This system can monitor of sleeping and fatigue as well as the diseasedconditions such as epilepsy, thus provides a useful tool for the clinical application. The designed16-channel (8for ECG and8for EEG) system can acquiresimultaneously characteristic parameters changes of ECG and EEG and the couplingrelationship between each other. The system includes the hardware and software. The system software is the key ofthe design. The hardware part composed of preamplifier circuit, low-pass filter, high-passfilter, the AD conversion as well as the STM32microprocessor. Software performanceincludes the data receiving, display and processing, which are mainly throughhuman-computer interaction interface based on Laboratory Virtual EngineeringWorkbench (LabVIEW). In particular, the ECG and EEG data sent as data packet will bedisplay in the waveform on the host computer. The signal of ECG and EEG filtering andEEG rhythm extract were through discrete wavelet transform. ECG signal featuredetection was through the wavelet transform. EEG bi-spectrum analysis was alsoperformed by fast Fourier transform (FFT). The LabVIEW system was used tosystemically design to form a complete ECG-EEG signal detection system. The EEG and ECG signal were collected and analyzed by our designed system, which proved to be sensitive and efficient tool for the detection of normal and diseasedfunction of heart and brain in clinical patients.
