With the high-paced development of the Internet, the network has come completely into every aspect of people’s daily life. It has made huge changes to the society. IP address in the existing network architecture not only represents user’s identity information but also identifies the location information. As a result, the future development of the Internet is restricted. Identifier-based Universal Network is proposed to solve the IP address ambiguity problems by taking access identifiers in access networks and taking route identifiers in core network to achieve location/identifier separation architecture. It indicates the development direction of the future network. Meanwhile, with the increasing amount of network services and the enhancing of business complexity, traditional single factor routing decision-making mechanism is difficult to ensure reliable network Quality of Service. To solve this problem, a novel multi-factor routing strategy is proposed based on the factors influencing routing decision in Identifier-Based Universal Network, which includes network topology, available link bandwidth and CPU usage, The main work is as follows:Firstly, through the topology discovery procedure including node relationships obtaining and network details exhibiting, the integrity of network is guaranteed, and in the meanwhile, the foundation of our proposal is constructed.Secondly with the utilization of Identifier-Based Universal Network’s Information Server based on the application layer protocol, which is obtained by data packets capture and deep packets inspection, we maintain an available link bandwidth matrix. It can reflect the network state in real time and provide the data support for multifactor routing strategy. Thirdly, based on network topology, available link bandwidth and CPU usage, a multi-factor routing strategy is raised. According to the simulation results, the multi-factor routing strategy can not only improve the utilization ratio of link but also reduce the loss rate of packet.Fourthly, by network topology creation on the platform of Identifier-Based Universal Network and migrating the router’s control plane to central server, the routing table calculation comes down to central server and routers can focus on data forwarding. The prototype system of multi-factor routing strategy and system testing have been completed.Finally, through the validation of prototype systems and comparing the experimental results of multi-factor routing strategy and OSPF routing protocol, the experimental results show multi-factor routing strategy can better utilize network resources and ensure quality of service than OSPF protocol, and thus multifactor routing strategy is feasible.
