With the development of economy and science, modern logistics enterprises arefacing a growing number of opportunities and challenges. It is a thorny issue forenterprises to explore new directions for development in the changing market environment.Warehousing, an indispensable part of logistics systems, plays an important role inbalancing and regulating the logistics. Therefore, the reform of warehousing systembecomes the prime target for the logistics enterprises reform.Warehousing, an important link between production and consumption, provides highquality of customer service with low logistics costs. Exploring optimization techniques ofoperating procedures in warehousing systems has positive effects in accelerating the flowspeed of goods, improving the level of enterprise management, reducing the costs ofwarehousing and ensuring smooth progress of production when logistics enterprises arefaced with a rapidly changing market environment. This paper, considering the uncertaintyand complexity of warehousing system, combines Petri nets modeling and Flexsimsimulation to analysis the warehousing systems and solve the problems in warehousingoperation. The details are as follows.Firstly, the operating procedures of storage subsystem based on the operation status ofwarehousing system about automotive parts are analyzed. Secondly, the model of storagesubsystem is established on the basis of Petri nets and then simplified according to thesimplification principles of Petri nets. Finally, warehousing operation system is simulatedand optimized by the Flexsim simulation software. A reasonable and feasible solution toimprove the system configuration is proposed and verified after finding out the issues ofwarehousing system by the statistical reporting of Flexsim software.
