At the beginning, the birth of Ethernet is mainly used in LAN, and because the LAN itself hasgood stability and reliability, the Ethernet has not too much consideration of management andmaintenance mechanism in the beginning of design. But with the development of technology, theproblem that the Ethernet has no reliable OAM mechanism continuously emerging, restricts theapplication of Ethernet in a larger scope. In view of the urgent need for Ethernet OAM, IEEEinternational organization and ITU-T formulate and publish the802.1ag protocol and Y.1731protocol. The above two agreement constitutes the complete carrier-grade Ethernet OAM protocolsuite.This paper is based on the CFD agreement function module of the world’s second largestenterprise switches equipment maker H3C communication company Comware V7operating system.CFD agreement module is the realization of IEEE802.1ag and ITU-T Y.1731, mainly provideOAM functions which based on VLAN link end-to-end on the second floor on enterprise level andoperation level. The authors practiced in H3C for11months in2012, participate in the developmentof the CFD module work completely, mainly responsible for the internal Ethernet alarm function,rapid detection and the development of test. In this paper, the most difficult to achieve the rapiddetection and the Ethernet alarm suppression in the engineering practice is discussed, focusing onits module architecture, process implementation, business process in detail, and conducting systemtesting to verify the function of the module finally. The author put forward and realized the methodthat development Ethernet alarm inhibition distributed equalization processing in the project,greatly reduces the needed resources of the system realization of the Ethernet alarm inhibition, andimproves the speed of the Ethernet alarm inhibition treatment.After implementation of CFD module, provides a quick and high reliability of monitoringnetwork connectivity to the network on enterprise level and operation level, add to the Ethernet inthe lack of the OAM mechanism, thus provides the guarantee for the application of Ethernet in thenetwork on operational level.
