With the rapid development of mobile data services, the traditional mobile bearernetwork is increasingly unable to meet today’s multi-service bearer network and thedemand for high-rate forwarding. A new mobile bearer network is needed to solve thecurrent problems. Therefore, based on MPLS technology IP RAN (Radio Access Network)came into being. IP RAN network has strong scalability and flexibility, robust routingcapabilities, efficient data forwarding, providing a good solution for the future deploymentof integrated mobile bearer network.In order to deploy the future mobile bearer network, the most important thing is todevelop IP RAN router. The core of router is to have efficient and flexible data forwardingfunction and a large-capacity routing information. Through in-depth analysis of networkrequirements and business model, we choose to use the currently advanced C3networkprocessor chip to complete the router packet forwarding and routing efficient storage.Weuse micro-code programming to achieve a variety of flexible businesses hosting.Firstly, the development of technology for IP RAN are briefly introduced, and focuson the IP RAN network theory and key technology in-depth explanation. According to theIP RAN integrated carrier network business needs, combined with the design features ofC3network processor, this paper firstly proposed the total packet forwarding processmodel and design solutions, focusing on business process forwarding design ideas andconcrete realization. Then the basic principle and process of the VPN service is describedin detail, and the design of data processing is realized. Finally, this paper tested the wholesystem design, and the test results are explained and optimized. By using this design,multi-service routers carrying capacity can be significantly enhanced and the forwardingefficiency is improved obviously, which can meet the development needs of the futureintegrated mobile bearing.
