Therefore, it's urgent to optimize the Metropolitan Area Network.as the technical supporter of the Mianyang Telecom IP Network, participated in the optimization of Mianyang IP WAN .completely improved the ability of the WAN to realize the multi-level service of WAN .As one of the first pot of IP WAN improvement of China Telecom, Mianyang has given a very good and practical example for other cities on the network optimization, device improvement, and project realizationcombine with Mianyang's telecommunication Metropolitan Area Network optimization project, from the network structure, business, management control, network safety etc., the thesis will analysis the existing disadvantages in the small scaled IP Metropolitan Area Network ;According to the request and new technical developments of the market and studied the IP Metropolitan Area Network's optimization target, standard ,it will put forward the implementation plan for Metropolitan Area Network optimization; After the completion of Metropolitan Area Network optimization, it will summarize the alteration effect from the network disadvantages solving, the customer's feeling the network's improvement and the network safety etc. At last, it will sum up the experience carried out in the implementation.The thesis summarized a great deal of techniques( such as: QOS, MPLS- VPN), the application of the new business and deployment; the method about IP networks' alteration ,optimization and engineering's implementation that were also tallied up .Here is a separate chapter on the creative experience of engineering, which won the 1st prize in the Sichuan telecommunication Metropolitan Area Network innovation competition.
