With the rapid development of the wireless network, and especially with the current innovation and development of new types of equipment and services, the demand for higher data rate and system capacity is significantly increasing, which accelerates the deployment and construction of the next generation wireless network. As4G specifications, China’s TD-LTE and its evolution will play a very important role in the coming network evolution trend. In this paper, we will study the efficient deployment of TD-LTE network on different frequency bands under different scenarios, which will both meet the requirements of coverage and high system capacity.The first part is the introduction of TD-LTE development and its current spectrum status, in which describes the significance of studying and deploying multi-frequency and multi-layer networks. Then we systematically introduce the TD-LTE key technology, network planning method, and system level simulation platform to support the following research.In the second part of the thesis, the performance of TD-LTE coverage on different bands under different scenarios will be studied. We make use of four typical scenarios, which respectively are dense urban, urban, suburb, and rural area, to study F-band (1880-1920MHz), E-band (2300-2400MHz,2320-2370MHz has been assigned), D-band (2500-2690MHz), and the "digital dividend" of700MHz band (698-806MHz). With the configuration of different system parameters and transmission schemes, we conduct link budget to estimate the coverage. And from this perspective, we compare and analyze these typical frequency bands. In the third part of this paper, we focus on the dense urban scenario to meet the demand for higher data rate and system capacity. Firstly, the performance of capacity of different frequency bands under this scenario will be researched. Then we studies the capacity improvement of two deployment strategies, which respectively are dense deployment of macro stations, and multi-layer deployment of different stations. All the theoretical researches and proposed strategies above have be verified and compared through the system simulation platform. At the end of this part, a brief summary of comparison and recommendation for network deployment on different bands will be proposed based on both coverage and capacity performance.At last, a conclusion of this paper has been made, and we predict TD-LTE future research directions and industry’s prospects.
