With the continuous evolution and innovation of wireless communication technology, especially the coming of mobile communication era, the present wireless communication field is a mixed and competive world of a variety of communication systems and standards. This change makes the adaptation of the original hardware-based wireless communication system become more difficult. At the same time, it also makes software defined radio (SDR) technology to get people more in-depth understanding, from initially only to recognize this technology can more easily introduce and support multiple air interface standards, to the present have begun to realize the adaptive, scalable technology has a wide range of application prospect and huge business value. The communication system based on SDR technology will be free in some ways such as compatibility and expansibility, benefits from the open, modularized hardware platform and the customizable software platfrom.The SDR platform includes hardware platform, software algorithm library and user interface. In the hardware platform, FPGA-based hardware data link plays an important role, which completes the compensation of RF uncertainty, AGC, calibration, DUC/DDC, rate conversion and other processes, to ensure the correctness of transceiver signals.Combining the research background of SDR technology, the thesis firstly states the significance and the main work of the project. On this basis, based on the definition of software radio systems, it illustrates the basic concepts and key technology of the SDR platform. The main part of this thesis is to analysis and build the general framework of the FPGA-based hardware data link, describe the implemention of the modules in the hardware data link and show the simulation results of the interfaces between units of the data link and the test results of the whole data link. Finally, the thesis summarizes the harvest and insufficient of the project and describes the prospect of FPGA-based SDR platform.
