In recent years, with the rise of new types of business, in order to better carry these businesses, the traditional transport network has been unable to meet the user’s needs. OTN technology generated to solve this problem. OTN has a transparent transmission capacity to support a variety of packages to send client signals, high-level cross-connect capability, enhanced forward error correction capability and tandem connection monitoring capabilities and a wealth of maintenance overhead and other unique advantages, it has become the mainstream of transmission network. In order to better take advantage of OTN networks, network construction needs reasonable network planning at first, in the premise of saving cost, to build a high-load efficiency, high reliability networks.Rolling plan is based on the needs of business the existing network in the future and make recommendations accordingly building program in the future.As the business predictability makes rolling planning can be easily achieved. So rolling plan to become an important research topic OTN planning.In this thesis work is as follows:1.Discusses the development situation of optical communications and the meaning of rolling plan applications in the real.2.Describes the concept of OTN, structure and advantages and OTN survivability technologies. Which focuses on the thesis is hierarchical structure of OTN and OTN frame structure and survivability technologies.3.According to the requirements and objectives of the rolling plan put forward reasonable rolling plan implementation, and on this basis, using OTN planning and optimization system software do simulation.4.Introduces the main contents of OTN planning and optimization of system software, including the system architecture and the main functions of software modules.
