Modern warfare has an increasing demand on informatization and networkingtechnology. The informatization appears to be the mastery of objective conditions in warfarein the strategic aspect, which provides a basis for decision-making. And the radar trackingprocessing is exactly one important part of informatization. Radar track processingtechnology determines if our side could get the real movement status of the enemy and thentrack and forecast it. This is the foundation to achieve information superiority.With the advancement of science and technology, the emergence of increasingly complexbattle environments and new weapons lead to more difficult and complicated radar trackingprocess. Therefore, it becomes the crucial problem to study how to achieve track processingaccurately and quickly in a complex battlefield environmentRadar track processing defines working out the trajectory of target from the points radardetects minutely and then tracking and forecasting it. Radar track processing includes radartrack initiation, radar track data association and radar track filtering. Radar track initiation isto find the target track from numerous points and radar track data decides how to identify themost probable echo from a plurality of suspect ones; While, Radar tracking filter speculateslocation of the next target point according to the existing track. This paper presents thesimulation of various. The feasibility of each algorithm is shown as well. Studies are asfollows:(1) Radar track processing is systematically elaborated. It introduces several commonalgorithms in engineering for each part. Advantages and disadvantages are analyzed for thosealgorithms.(2) Two types of track initiation techniques are discussed. Sequential processingtechnology is mainly used in a quiet environment and batch processing technology mainly instrong clutter environment. However, they are restricted by the track initiation environmentand the calculation amount respectively. In the track initiation, the target is lost easily whentarget is steering. Therefore, track initiation algorithm is proposed in such case based on thelogistic method. Simulation result proves that this algorithm can improve accuracy of trackinitiation when target is steering.(3) The relevant wave gate has multiple suspect echo because of clutter or the relevantwave gate overlapping of different track when the target is tracked. Track data is associatedaimed at finding the most probable target measurement point in numerous suspect echo. Trackdata association includes single target data association and multi-target association. In thispaper, these algorithms are simulated and their performances are analyzed.(4) Track filter ensures the consistency of target motion state. The paper illustrates thecommon linear and nonlinear filtering method. According to project request, improved-βfilter algorithm is proposed based on the original-β filter. Then, it also studies the simulationresults of linear and nonlinear filter. The results show that the improved-β filter algorithmcan track the target quickly and it has a smaller amount of calculation; the performance ofUKF is superior to EKF and its amount of calculation is also smaller.
