A Design And Implementation Enterpirse Communication System Based On XMPP

Instant messaging software have been welcomed by users for the conveniencethey bring to the communication between people since their creation. However, due tothe security issue of using instant messaging software in an office environment,especially when some enterprises’ office environments have confidentialityrequirement, common instant messaging software cannot be used. In addition,corporate office environments often include other office systems, which are notintegrated with each other by a good means.On this basis, researches were conducted by this paper on building forenterprises an communication system with XMPP as the core, to provide a unifiedcommunication platform for internal users of enterprises. Besides, an email gatewaywas constructed integrating the enterprise’s internal email system, offering an examplefor the integration of other enterprise office systems. The system is mainly used in enterprise internal.This paper mainly includes the following sections:The concept of the system was elaborated. Major discussions were carried out onXMPP protocol, the web interchange format of control signal encapsulation used bythe system-JSON, and the characteristics of audio and video format used by thevideo calls of the system. All of these formed the theoretical basis of the paper.The overall design and system deployment of the enterprise communicationsystem were described in detail. Emphasis was given on the design of the emailgateway, which is an important module of the integration between the enterprisecommunication system and the enterprise email system. The detailed design of theclient end facing end users in the system was also specifically explained.Finally, a summary was presented; shortcomings and the future prospect of thepaper were put forward.
