Although electronic medical record (EMR) system is not a new thing in our country, most hospitals carry on this on-line electronic medical record in recent years. There is a general lack of experiences in EMR construction field. The author and the entire EMR construction team finally implement this system successfully by developing from nothing with continuous efforts and overcoming lots of difficulties. This thesis carried out related research work mainly about the design and implementation of the hospital’s EMR system based on XML technology. Now the main results and contents of this thesis as follows:1:This thesis gives the analysis of system function and specific requirements. After continuous screenings and demand analysis of the existing EMR system and related technologies, the thesis eventually developed the main design features of EMR system as follows:information integrity, scientific value, convenient access, large capacity and easy preservation, safety and reliability. According to the above requirement features, we determined the identified modules and design principles. This thesis gives the three-tier software architecture such as based user interface layer, business logic and the database layer.2:This thesis gives the prototyping and safe design of the electronic medical records. According to the data storage strategy, the huge amount of electronic medical records and the reasonable data storage space, this thesis has developed this special online storage and offline storage. Regularly exporting more than five years of EMR data to offline storage files are stored in XML format, and relevant references remain in the database. In addition, in choosing the EMR editor, the thesis finally chose the OpenOffice by testing a variety of open-source editors. It better meets the diverse needs of clinicians’ habits and system development. Finally, EMR as a legal instrument of the most important security and non-repudiation, the author continued to deepen design, chose the XML Signature and XML Encryption combination of modes and signature in three dimensions by implementing user, the file system and encrypted manner, the effective protection of the security of EMR.3:This thesis gives a further requirement analysis and module implementation, including the relationship between the electronic medical record system platform, the demand descriptions, user dictionary, data flow diagrams, object collection system, business process diagrams. The modules include implementation of electronic medical record editors, resident physician workstation, hospital nurses station, medical records maintenance workstations, workstation maintenance and outpatient medical record template doctor workstation modules. It fully meets the current clinical needs.Through the development of electronic medical records systems, electronic medical records system based on XML technology has been successfully carried on line in Xiyuan Hospital., The system is stable, further exploration of research and development is well underway for the establishment of a comprehensive electronic medical records system.
