Along with the time development, the office software has become productive forces of each enterprise and individual. Users have a very big demand for inexpensive, stable, efficacy office software. The open source organization OpenOffice arise at the historic moment, not only can meet the users'need, moreover it is free. OpenOffice publishes the technology, so it not only a office software product, but also a development platform. Using the application interface API provided by OpenOffice, developers can design and realize integrated solutions easily.Firstly, the paper has researched the OpenOffice software frame construction, analyzed the OpenOffice application procedure environment, the frame organization, surface element loading and responding with execution, the documents model and so on, especially in depth took apart the UNO component technology which owned by OpenOffice only. Secondly based on the present situation of OpenOffice lacking of mail client, for the greater degree convenience to the user, the paper has researched and developed a new document model which named MailClient. MailClient can send and receive email, set the information of user accounts, what is more, it can be used with OpenOffice other document models. This paper compiles the new UNO functional components, configure document model, write source codes of processing class, collocate interface elements and do response realizations, etc. The realization of MailClient not only validates the validity of the frame research in the earlier period, which has the very big development significance, but also using the OpenOffice construction realization plan, building a new software platform for the developer, it is strong instructive.
