With the rapid expansion of networks scale at present. Many kinds ofNMS,EMS, network elements and complex alarm protocol make accurate and timelymaintenance of the network become a pressing demand for operators, which is solvedeffectively using Centralized alarm monitoring systems. the system could optimizesalarm processing by way of centralized alarm management, alarm correlation analysisand alarm means of topological analysis and alarm correlationtopology display,reducing the workload of network maintenance and increasing the accuracy andcompleteness of alarm processing,which effectively improves the network qualityand end-user satisfaction.Based on the development of the operation support system of thetelecommunications industry, a centralized alarm monitoring system uniting withcurrent main information technology was established to meet the needs of telecomoperators. First, capture all network alarms north through the EMS system, and thenfocus on alarm correlation analysis, meanwhile analyze alarm root failure combiningwith the network topology, and finally sent the root failure and related maintenanceinformation to maintenance staffs through automatic and manual mode,in order tohelp them with network failure restoration. Fault closed-loop processing was realizedwith the help of some means such as automatic discovery fault, correlation analysisfault, the timely repair fault.The system is a three-tier architecture design, the probe in the collecting layergathers a variety of protocols alarm, the alarm database and the alarm analyzer in themanagement layer are used for alarm memory, alarm analysis,and dockingcapabilities with third-party system, while the alarm monitoring and alarm queriescould be operated utilizing the module in the application layer. The system has beenrigorously tested and successfully applied in many set points, the customer is verysatisfied with the system, which has become an indispensable tool for maintenancepersonnel.
