Design And Implementation Of Sharing Management Platform For Large-scale Instruments And Equipment In College And University

The purchase, management and maintenance of large-scale instrument and equipment hasalways been an important part of university assets management. With the increasing nationalinvestment in key discipline in colleges, as the carrier of the teaching, scientific research,social services, etc, the purchase of large-scale instrument and equipment also grow innumber therewith. How to manage and use these instruments and equipment, is related to thenormal order of teaching and research development in colleges. These instruments andequipment are generally placed dispersedly in,such as institute, department, laboratory,analysis center, etc, difference institutions, firstly, that it is almost impossible to take thecentralized and unified management of equipment in the same space. However, the traditionalmanual management is difficult, with heavy task, low efficiency, and prone error, and then isunable to realize the transparent, efficient, unified management for large-scale equipment, andthe equipment information cannot be shared, that cause duplication of instruments andequipment purchase and management of various state of disorder.Considering the large instruments and equipment management sharing mode, Whether theequipment can be monitored and managed, is a prerequisite for doing good equipment sharing,so that can really master the actual operation of each instrument equipment. This paper willtake the sharing platform project of South China University of Technology as an example,Elaborates the system requirements, design, implementation and testing for a largeinstruments and equipment sharing management platform based-on the sharing mode by themanagement center, data gateway, and Monitoring engine. The equipment sharing platformnot only provides an online operational management platform for the managers, but alsoprovides a convenient environment for users, so that can make full use of the equipment,improve equipment management level, and know well the real usage of the equipment, toprovide decision basis for the management of equipment life cycle, so as to establish adevelop-benign management mode from equipment accessing to booking, to using, to chargesettlement, to analysis, to evaluation, to maintenance, and to decision.
