Today’s software systems are becoming increasingly large, so the logic business andthe amount of data are becoming more and more complex. The increasing volume ofbusiness makes the system increasingly heavy load. In this case, whether the operation ofthe system is normal and stable can directly affect the quality of services that the corporateprovide for users. Nowadays, software’s performance has been more and more valued.Performance testing is mainly used in two phases: after completion of system’sdevelopment, the system’s ability to run can be evaluated through the performance testing;during the process of system’s operation, the implicit question in the system can bedetected, and the performance of the system can be optimized through the performancetesting.In this paper, based on the development of the GPS vehicle monitoring system inlarge iron and steel enterprises, the method of performance testing about the three layersof C/S architecture of GPS vehicle monitoring system is discussed. In the paper, based onthe analysis of software performance test research and application status at home andabroad, the test requirements of the system are analyzed, the testing method of the threelayers of C/S architecture of GPS vehicle monitoring system is proposed, and the testingsteps are given. The concurrent testing and stability testing is focused on. By simulatingthe concurrent operation of a large number of users, the system response time, maximumnumber of concurrent users and the reasons of poor performance can be obtained. Bysimulating the long running of the system, stability of the system can be detected and thereasons of instability can be obtained.In this paper, the testing method of the Car and Ship Monitoring System using GPSand which is based on three layers of C/S architecture can accurately detect the systemwhether meets the users’ need or not, find performance problems in the system andoptimize it, and has an important reference for similar system.
