With the continuous expansion of enrollment in colleges and universities of ourcountry in recent years, the amount of information is blown up. Extracting valuableknowledge from numerous data has been a bottleneck restricting the development ofenrollment in university. Therefore, the establishment of decision support system thatrealizes extracting knowledge automatically for the university enrollment is oftheoretical significance and important practical value.Based on Data Warehouse and Data Mining technology, this paper stored basicdata source of decision supporting through Data Warehouse and got valuableknowledge using improved Apriori algorithm. The university enrollment decisionsupport system was accomplished. The paper’s main research content and innovationpoints were summarized as follows:(1)Analyzed Data Warehouse and Data Mining theory and technology deeply,this paper studied frame of university enrollment decision support system based onData Warehouse. With2005to2008data resources about Beijing University ofTechnology enrollment and employment, this paper analyzed system subject anddesigned the BJUT enrollment decision support system frame through SQLServer2008.(2)In order to solve the problem of automatic knowledge acquisition of theenrollment decision support system, this paper proposed a Data Mining methodimproved from Apriori algorithm. First aiming at problem of students’ weightingscore step, the Data Mining method reduced the influence of subjective factors on themining results through data discretization method. Secondly, the efficiency ofimproved Apriori algorithm was enhanced by using several methods such asestablishing field and the value of the index, scanning the database to get the datasnapshots, introducing degree of association rules and increasing causal attributes ofthe field. Finally, the precision of enrollment decision support system data mining isincreased using improved Apriori algorithm.(3)There is no effective university enrollment decision support prototypesystem. The paper established C/S architecture of BJUT enrollment decision supportsystem’s prototype which can realize acquiring and analyzing data effectively usinguniversity enrollment decision support frame, Data Warehouse and improved Data Mining algorithm through C#.
