Since the21st century, as computer technology, information technology, networktechnology all develop by leaps and bounds, intelligent and automation has becomethe developing trend in industries and various fields.In such a background, the testautomation technology also develops rapidly.A kind of automatic test system forinfrared remote control device is designed and researched aiming at multiple cyclicfunctional test and multiple operation fatigue test. The system can complete the test ofinfrared remote control equipment automatically.The system is designed as a combination mode of PC configuration software andan automatic tester with characteristics of easy operation and flexible use. The PCconfiguration software which is used to edit a test script will be completed by MFCprogramming. Infrared automatic tester adopts CPU and FPGA hardware architecture,the Hi3716c chip with embedded Linux operating system is designed to realize thecontrol function, and FPGA module implements the generation and emission ofinfrared signal.Based on the system design thought, the development of PC configurationsoftware and design of the test script language are completed in this paper,beyond that,the automatic the infrared tester hardware platform is set and the system andapplication software are implemented. The result of digital cable high definitionset-top box automated testing is good which, and it pvoves that the system canachieve the desired requirements. At the same time, some expended function ideas areput forward and the feasibility analysis is carried on.
