Design And Realization Of Web Test Automation For Network Management System

This paper mainly studies the design and realization method of Web Test Automation for Network Management System. Based on the analysis of internal and external research and development situation of test automation, the paper first studied the rationales, basic principles and key technologies deeply, and then proposed a suitable test automation framework, obtained a test resolution and test flow basing on it. Finally, it realized the Web Test Automation for Network Management System with the commercial test automation tools Rational Functional Tester from IBM Corporation.In the process of the design and realization, this paper concretely designs Program Controlled Objects, Action Word functions, verification functions, interfaces of Action Word function and verification function, test logics, and test data for all the function points of Web test. By taking the automation test case"query the device resource"for example, the paper specifies the realization details and regulations to follow. Finally, 720 of all the 1680 Web test cases for the whole system are implemented automation, the automation rate is 42.9% and has achieved the higher lever of test automation field.Another work of this paper is to study the continuous design of Test Automation. Common aspects of continuous design include the performance and maintainability of test automation system itself, the independence of test execution, and the analyzability of test result. This paper gives the concrete resolution of above four aspects, and also proposes other aspects need to be considered in continuous design, such as extendibility in future and capability to multi-product and multi-edition.
