The current satellite communication is developing in the direction of wide bandwidthand high transmission speed. The accurate synchronization of carrier’s frequency and phaseis critical to the stability of data receiving. The local oscillator phase noise of thetransmission parts on the satellite leads to the fluctuation of the receiving signal vector andthe random rotation of the signal constellation, which brings about the common phaseerror. Simultaneously, the existence of the inter carrier interference brings the clouddivergence of the signal constellation, leading to the random phase fluctuation among thedifferent sub-carriers, which is difficult to be corrected. The received signal’s SNR isreduced by the deterioration of the local oscillator phase noise, which influences the systemBER (Bit Error Rate) directly. Thus the research on the phase noise simulation method andrealization technique that based on the generalized channel simulator is meaningful inengineer and practice to the measurement and validation of the satellite communicationsystems’ qualities. In this paper, according to the requirements of the generalized channelsimulator, the phase noise simulation theory and realization technique are deeply studied.The main works and contributions are as follows:1. The phase noise simulation theory is researched and the method based on thegeneralized channel simulator of phase noise simulation is given, then the correctness of thetotal scheme is validated by the simulation result;2. The function of the phase noise simulation is realized by the FPGA. Then theshaped filters’ structure and the method of parameter calculation are given. The correctnessof the design is validated by testing.
